I stayed overnight a couple of days ago. The room itself was lovely, and all the staff were pleasant and very helpful. If I need to stay in Bedford again, I'd still stay here.

I stopped going out in Bedford a while ago as it had started to go downhill a bit. However I popped into town a few weeks ago and ended up in the Cross Keys, it's clearly had a refurb as looks more modern and nicely decked out, ended up having the best night! Staff were friendly, even the door staff!!! We were made to feel really welcome which is a rarity in bars these days and they had an awesome jukebox! Have been back a couple of times since as they've had live music and DJs playing, even popped in for lunch the other day and the food was really good (and cheap!) Would deffo recommend this pub to anyone really. It's a good laugh and a good night out but more importantly the staff are nice and make you feel welcome, see you there!

the old keys is gone and on to the new. I've heard the reports of how the cross keys used to be and now its hard to imagine. the pub is trendy, the drinkers friendly and the door staff couldn't be more pleasant. its crazy to read the previous reports and think that this could be the same place. Ive heard the food is great too although its only served in the afternoon. guess thats the difference between a large chain bar and a proper family run good old english pub.

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT
What a change since the new landlord recently came on board! Great food - I mean GREAT! - very reasonably priced and friendly atmosphere, nice staff - I shall be using this pub for weekday lunches with business colleagues and meeting up with mates in the evening. Becoming talked about among the students now too, I hear, as a nice place to have a drink and a bit of grub.
