I have known and shopped with Michael for years - though almost exclusively during SALE time. Today I dashed in, in a slight emergency and emerged minutes later with 3 perfect items lifted off the rails by Michael. I am hugely grateful and find the shop a delight.
Michael Bailey is the brightest star on the shopping horizon for 30 miles - and easier than wearing yourself out in London.

I have purchased two mother of the bride outfits from Michael he is just amazing. If you have never been into his shop you are definitely missing out. I will be going in soon to get another outfit for my friends daughetrs wedding, excited ??

I went to Michael Bailey out of desperation, admittedly as, being short and awkwardly proportioned, and consequently finding dress shopping an absolute chore, I could find nothing suitable for my daughter's wedding. He and his lady assistant were very helpful and gave options i would never have thought of for myself. In the event, I chose the second outfit I tried on, which fitted perfectly (apart from needing the inevitable hem alteration, which was included in the service). I can't wait to wear the outfit in August. His stock is expensive, but well worth the money. You get what you pay for.

I called in to Michael Bailey recently to find an outfit for my son's wedding. I had an idea as to what I wanted and type of colours, but nothing fixed in my mind. When I explained to Michael he was hugely helpful in choosing a couple of options. I was doubtful about one of them, but when I put it on with the hat and shoes it looked amazing! I ended up buying the one I thought I wouldnt, but it was deffinately the best and reasonably priced too. Michael was very helpful and funny with it, which made the whole experience enjoyable. I will deffinately be back.

This was my first visit to Michael Bailey, upon recommendation, and as my daughter had seen an outfit that she was sure would be perfect for me. As we entered the shop we were looked up 'n down and welcomed in an off hand manner. The female assistant asked me what I was looking for and what colours I usually liked to wear. Interested, I thought, well she offered me none of those (they were on the rail) and suggested I tried on dresses and jackets which made me feel older than my 60+ years and hugely frumpy. Telling me that I looked marvellous in a grey creation, whose fabric was absolutely ghastly, made me realise that they didn't really want my business. When I asked to try on two other outfits in the colours I like (and suit) the response was 'no we don't have them in your size' making me feel very uncomfortable as though I was massive. I am a size 14. Their prices are high. The quality of some of their stock is fabulous. Especially the evening wear. Did I find an outfit? No way. I could not recommend this shop - ever. Go to Annie Furbank in Buckden if you want the more 'up market' feel, or go to one of the chains which hold a super variety and their staff don't make you feel unwanted.

Visited this store last Saturday and found the two ladies in store delightful not pushy but very helpful they went above and beyond to make my husband and I welcome they knew the product and were able to chat in a friendly way which made us both very comfortable. I am visiting again with my daughter this week before making my final decision and only sorry that neither of them are working that day but am assured that I will get the same level of attention from their colleagues thanks again

This was my first purchase from Michael Bailey and it certainly wont be my last. The purchase was fir my daughter's wedding in April.
I have since recommended Michael to some of my friends as he gave excellent service and was so helpful. He advised me being totally honest, and after adding shoes and a hat to the dress and jacket it was perfect. Something that I would not have chosen had I not been guided.
On the wedding day, I felt so special and had many compliments.

I have purchased twice from Michael Bailey, both times for special occasions.
My first purchase was for my daughters wedding in Mexico and second time for
Royal Ascot 2012.
Michael advised me on both occasions and neither disappointed. I had so many compliments and admirers . I actually felt a million dollars.
I would highly recommend the shop and service. My only disappointment is the fact that I live in Derbyshire and the shop is in Bedford. Maybe this is an advantage for me as I would be in there far too much.
