Booked a taxi for a group of friends - 8 people on the way in to Bedford and 9 people on the way home. Explained we had a table booked and needed to be on time - no problem I was told.
Received a call 20 minutes before they were due to arrive saying there would be a delay. Another call 5 minutes later saying they would send 2 cars rather than a minibus - no problem except they wanted to charge more! Agreed that each car would be £12. 1 group paid £12, the other were charged £13.50.
The journey home was worse! We were again sent 2 vehicles, each for 4 people when 1 should of been for 5! 4 people left in the first car as we were assured that the 5 seater would only be 2 minutes - 10 minutes later, still no car! The driver of the 1st taxi chased it up and it arrived almost straight away.
Taxi #1 charged £12 as agreed, taxi #2 tried to charge £22.50 as 'it was for 9 people'!
I've always rated A 2 B and always recommend them to anyone who asks for a taxi number but no more.
If I hadn't booked in advance, fair enough but to have booked, confirmed a price, pick up times, numbers etc and then be left waiting and overcharged is simply not acceptable
