In a town famed for the quality of its curry, Malabar stands out as one of my favourites. The food is excellent, they give very good freebies, the guy on the phone (and in house on the odd occasion I've called in) is dead friendly, and there is a wide range of dishes that would keep anyone from the mild to the asbestos-gulleted happy. I would particularly recommend the Bengal beef for folks who like the heat, or the Makani chicken for those with more taste but less capacity for burning. Top, top curry house!

Awful service - took over an hour to receive my order when it came was missing items. Small portions not worth the money and when I rung to explain missing items they were rude and said he didn't know what he could do about it and that he would give me two extra the next time I ordered. Never will I order from this place again.

We absolutely love the Malabar. Great service, freedelivery (even to Riseley!) and fantastic food. Spices mixed to perfection and glorious heat in just the right places. The patia dishes are spectacularly god, but frankly it's all great, so tuck in and enjoy!! :-)
